A Central London Venue Steeped in History

St Mary’s is a venue with a remarkable heritage. Built as one of the Commissioners’ Churches—a collection of churches established in the early 19th century to commemorate Britain’s victory at the Battle of Waterloo—it was completed in 1824.

The architect, Sir Robert Smirke, renowned for designing the British Museum’s iconic façade, brought his signature Greek Revival style to St Mary’s. His design combined simplicity with elegance: a brick structure enhanced by a semi-circular stone portico of six columns on the south façade, crowned by a tower.

At the end of 2000, a major restoration project began to return St Mary’s Marylebone to its Georgian splendour, blending historic charm with contemporary functionality, making it ideal for Central London event venue hire, conferences, private functions, and cultural events.
